Mr. Billy Gene Skipper, age 57, beloved husband of Sharon Rich Skipper, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2015  at CMC-NorthEast in Concord, NC after an illness.

Born in Marlboro County, SC, on October 2, 1958, he was the son of Thelbert Skipper, Jr. and Esther Mae Turner Skipper. He was a graduate of McColl High School, retired from the textile industry and attended the McColl Church of God. Billy was an avid hunter, fisherman, die-hard NASCAR fan, and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and son who cherished spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon R. Skipper of the home in McColl; sons, Billy Eric Skipper (Kayla) of McColl, Benjamin Nicholas "Benji" Chavis and his fiance, Lauren Jung of Laurinburg, NC, Jason Hopkins (Denise) of McColl, and  William Curtis Chavis (Alex) of the US ARMY stationed in Germany and John Chavis of McColl; daughter, Christi Daniels Ray of Clio; brothers, Alfred Skipper (Lula Jane) of McColl, Richard Earl Skipper of Bennettsville, Robert Skipper (Mary Nancy) of McColl; sister, Brenda Skipper Cornett of Fayetteville, NC; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Daniels, Kurt Daniels, Lici Chavis, Nathan Chavis, Emily Chavis, Zoe Ray and Kyson Chavis; an aunt, Midge Milligan; by 2 uncles, Howard and Toby Skipper; by extended brothers and sisters, Donald, Willie James, Thomas, Debra, Betty, Cathy and Gail; a host of other family members and friends; also by his loving canine friend, "Angel Boo-Boo Skipper".

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the McColl Church of God with burial following in Rogers Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Deal will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-9PM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the McColl Church of God.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harley Ray(2015); and a brother-in-law, John Marvin Cornett (2011).
