Chief Thomas "Tommy" E. Langley

Chief Thomas “Tommy” E. Langley, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC after a brief illness. He was 57.

Born May 31, 1960 in Laurinburg, NC. He was the son of Pearlie Graham Langley and the late Eston William Langley. He was a 1978 graduate of McColl High School. He entered into Law Enforcement in 1987, serving with Marlboro County Sheriff’s Department. He has spent the last 20 years as the Chief of Police for the town of McColl. To know Tommy was to love him. He never met a stranger. He always greeted everyone with “what’s going on kid?” He was one of a kind. No one will ever fill his shoes. He loved his family and his grandchildren. He was committed to his job and to the people in the Town of McColl. He did his job with pride every day. Tommy was the guy that he put his own problems to the side and everyone else came first, especially his wife and kids. He will be greatly missed , especially by his granddaughter Londyn, as he was her “daddy”.

He is survived by his wife, Tierany Hunt Langley of McColl; son, Bryan Keith Langley of Orlando, Fl.; daughters, Madison Brooke Langley, Carley Elizabeth Langley, and Heather Brianna Langley all of McColl; mother, Pearlie Graham Langley of McColl; sisters Helen Langley and Diane Brigman of McColl; and eight grandchildren, Janaeya Langley, Cameron Smith, Zayden Smith, Nehemiah Langley, Damari Charles, Acacia Langley, Makiya Langley, Londyn Langley and David 'Scoot" Walden who was like a son to him.

A funeral service with Law Enforcement Honors will be conducted 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017, at McColl Church of God, with burial at Rogers Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Brian Oxendine and Rev. Donald Deal.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Saturday, October 21, 2017, at McColl Church of God.
