Donald Dewey (Sr.) Hargrove

 

  Mr. Donald Dewey Hargrove, Sr. age 60, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 after an illness.

 

  Born in Marlboro County, SC, on May 28, 1955, he was the son of the late John Dewey Hargrove and Addie Mae Holmes Hargrove. He was a lifelong farmer and member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Clio. Throughout his life one of his greatest loves was farming and working in his yards. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

 

  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rosa Taylor Hargrove of their home in McColl; by sons, Donald Dewey Hargrove, Jr., Johnathan Ross Hargrove and Cliff Calhoun all of McColl; brothers, Ronnie Hargrove (Rebecca) of Clio and Jimmy Goins (Paulette) of Bennettsville; and by sisters, Katie Clark of McColl, Mary Jane Hunt of Dillon, Grace Sewell (Rev. Tracie Thad Sewell) of Hamlet, NC, Rosie Hargrove of Clio and Lois Hargrove of McColl; and by a grandson, Hunter Hargrove.

 

  Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Rogers Funeral Home with burial following in Hickory Grove UMC Cemetery in Clio. Pastor Tracy Thad Sewell will officiate assisted by Minister Jamie Hargrove. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8P.M. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the funeral home. 

 

  Mr. Donald was preceded in death by his parents listed above; by his son, James Ervin Hargrove; a brother, Lee "June Bug" Hargrove; and by a sister, Lindsey Clark.

 

The family is also receiving friends anytime at the home of his sister, Katie Clark, 505 E. Gibson Avenue in McColl.
