Mrs. Esther Parker Otter, age 72, a resident of 204 Melroy Street died Friday night, December 29, 2017 at her home.

Born November 22, 1945 in Tatum, she was the daughter of the late Cary and Savannah Perhealth Parker. A very outgoing, social person, she was very interested in her community, and enjoyed talking with just about anyone she met. One of her favorite topics was local politics, and she would encourage people to vote, driving those with no way to the polls. Mrs. Otter loved to cook and looked forward to playing bingo.

Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Lawrence A. “Larry” Otter; four daughters, Debra Johnson of Bennettsville, Christina Young of Grand Ledge, Michigan, LaVeta Emanuel of McColl, and Theresa Hatcher and husband Travis of Bennettsville; eight grandchildren, Amber Cowan, Noelle Johnson, Megan Johnson, Bryan Young, Daniel Young, Carmen Emanuel, Jade Emanuel, and Gage Hatcher, and a great-grandchild, MarLeigh. 

 In addition to her parents, Mrs. Otter was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Parker, Grafton Parker, and Vernon Parker.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Rogers Funeral Chapel with Rev. Glenn Vollrath officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM and other times at the home.

Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
