(Fannie) Doris (Rabon) Webster

(Fannie) Doris Rabon Webster of Laurinburg, and formerly of McColl, found the eternal rest she was promised on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg.  She was 75 years old.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2016 at New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Laurinburg with Pastor Dwayne Powers officiating.  Interment will follow at Rogers Cemetery in McColl.  There will be a time of visitation Thursday evening, May 12, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, also at the church.

Doris was born in Horry County, SC on February 8, 1941 to the late Harley Rabon and the late Elsie Marlow Rabon.  After working at Ingram in Laurinburg for a number of years she decided to devote her days to being a stay-at-home wife and mother.  When Doris wasn’t baking one of her 13-layer chocolate cakes or taking care of her family, she enjoyed spending time in the yard growing flowers and gardening.  She also loved to sew and knit, anything that involved a needle and yarn.  But the joy in her life, the light in her eyes, was her family.  She helped to raise and helped to spoil her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twelve siblings.  She was the last survivor of the family born to Mr. and Mrs. Harley Rabon.

As a testament to her love she leaves behind her husband of almost 58 years, Jarvie Clifton Webster, of the home; a son, Jarvie C. Webster, Jr. and wife Tammie of Laurinburg; four grandchildren, Kimberly W. Kelly and husband Steve of McColl, Tyler C. Webster of Laurinburg, Michael Ray Jacobs and wife Lessie of Maxton, NC, and Jonathan Sweeney of Laurinburg;  five great-grandchildren, Madison Brooke Kelly, Kaitlyn Nicole Kelly, Gabriella McKenzie, Annina-Marie Jacobs, and Michael Ray Jacobs, Jr., as well as host of nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors who will miss her deeply.
