James Charles Brooks, age 67, died Thursday night, November 30, 2017 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg

Born February 10, 1950 in Robeson County, NC, he moved to McColl in his early childhood.  He had been employed as a machine operator with the Eaton Corporation for fifteen years.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Brooks enjoyed fishing and was an avid Clemson Tiger and Dallas Cowboy football fan.

Surviving are three sisters, Linda Ward and husband Jack, Bertha Garcia and husband Hugo, and Brenda Jacobs and husband  Rev. Jackie Jacobs, all of McColl and nine nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his mother, Girtha Mae Hunt, a sister Barbara Locklear, and a brother, Nathaniel (Sonny) Hunt

The visitation will be Saturday. December 2, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Rogers Funeral Home.  A memorial will be held at a later date.
