John Michael White, age 27, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Born in Scotland County, NC, on August 10, 1989, he was the son of William Michael White and stepmother, Lynn Scott White and the late Virginia Mae McKenzie White. He was a 2008 Graduate of Marlboro County High School and was employed at J's Mini Mart in McColl. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Duke Blue Devils. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He attended Fletcher's Chapel Wesleyan Church in McColl.
John Michael is survived by his father: William Michael White and stepmother Lynn Scott White of McColl; a sister, Tabitha Henry (Terry) of San Diego, CA; step sister, Donna Scott of McColl & Sierra Locklear of Bennettsville; paternal grandparents, James White and Jimmie R. White of McColl; maternal grandfather John McKenzie of Gibson, NC; step grandparents, Mary and Donald Scott of McColl; Aunt, Susan Zafft (Bryon) of Brookings, South Dakota; uncles, Bobby Ray White and James White, Jr. both of McColl; special nieces, Rhiannon and Amanda Henry; cousins, Stephanie King of Freemont, NY, Jennifer King of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Madeline Zafft of Brookings, South Dakota and Bobby Ray White, II (Jessie) of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; special family members, Elaina White and Jianna Phrommany, KiKi and Seqouia Wright and Diego Scott; a special friend, Missy; also by a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Bennettsville with burial following in Rogers Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Vollrath will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home in Bennettsville.
John Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Mae White; his maternal grandmother, Margaret McKenzie.
