Mr. Fairley Barfield, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2015 at his residence after an illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Marlboro County, SC, on April 15, 1951, he was the son of the late Evege and Hazel Knight Barfield. He was employed as a supervisor for 30+ years with Crown Cork & Seal Company in Cheraw and was a graduate of McColl High School. Fairley loved God and enjoyed attending the McColl Church of God. He loved shagging, listening to beach music and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, taking vacations and especially loved taking his grandchildren fishing. He always enjoyed video taping family events and left many tapes for his family to remember and cherish.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy Barfield of McColl; a son, Patrick Odom (Nicole) Barfield of Rowland, NC; by daughters, Ashley Michelle Barfield, Alison Elizabeth Barfield and Raven White all of McColl; by brothers, Eugene Barfield, Charles Barfield, Andrew Barfield, Johnny Barfield all of McColl and Mitchell Barfield of Kentucky; a sister, Geraldine Grooms of McColl; by grandchildren, Miranda Barfield, Morgan Barfield, Patrick “P.J.” Barfield, II, Jordan Barfield, Dakota Barfield and Harley Barfield; by 2 great-grandchildren, Lannon Strickland and Jayse Barfield.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the McColl Church of God with burial following in Rogers Cemetery. Dr. Roy W. Puckett and Rev. Jerry Springs will officiate.Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8P.M. on Thursday at the McColl Church of God.
Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by his parents listed above; by a brother, Norman Wesley "Doug" Barfield; by a niece, Charlotte Elizabeth Grooms; by a great-niece, Kylee Emanuel; and by a great-nephew, Kevin Anthony Barfield.
