Mr. Franklin Wayne Sewell

McColl, SC / Wilmington, NC

Mr. Franklin Wayne Sewell, age 80, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017,  at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center Wilmington, NC after a period of declining health.

Born in the Red Bluff Community of Marlboro County, SC, on October 25, 1936, he was a son of the late Marshall Allen Sewell and Dorothy McCall Sewell Rodgers. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in McColl and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Carrier. He enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, and watching Country Western movies (especially John Wayne).

He is survived by his daughter; Liisa Sewell Crabb and husband Chuck Crabb of Wake Forest, NC; by sons, Franklin Boyd Sewell and wife Lisa Sewell of Mount Pleasant, SC, Andrew Vance Sewell and wife Laura Sewell of Wilmington, NC, and John Marshall Sewell and wife Donna Sewell of National Park, New Jersey; a brother, Jackie Morris Sewell of Grovetown, GA; and by 5 grandchildren Emily, Katelyn, Otto, Sara, and Zoe.    

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in McColl, SC  with burial following at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. A Buffet lunch will be available at the First Presbyterian Church following the graveside service.
