Mr. Harold Shelley

McColl, SC

Mr. Harold Shelley, age 61, affectionately known as “Beagle Master”, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Marlboro County, SC, on January 26, 1955, he was the son of the late Rowena Shelley. He was formerly employed by Eaton Corporation Golf Grip Division in Laurinburg, NC, as a press operator and was of the Holiness faith.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman who truly enjoyed fishing and hunting with his beloved hunting dog “Gypsey.” He was a former member of both the Pee Dee and Cedar Creek Hunting Clubs in Society Hill.  He cherished the precious time he spent with his family, especially his grandson, Hunner.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary Lisa Shelley of their home in McColl; a son, Roy Shelley and his wife Krystal of McColl; a daughter, Ashley Goins of Tatum;  by his precious grandson, Hunner Zachery Shelley of Patrick; by brothers, Bobby Shelley and his wife Mable of McColl, Henry Shelley and his wife “Nita” of McColl and James Bryant and his wife Teressa of McColl; and by his beloved Boykin Spaniel, "Gypsey."

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Rogers Funeral Home with burial following at Rogers Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Rogers Funeral Home.

Harold was preceded in death by his mother listed above; and by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lee Elvis and husband James Elvis.
