Mr. Randy Irvin Deese, age 49, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2016 surrounded by his precious family at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg after an illness.

Born in Winddock, MI, on June 17, 1967, he was the son of Jackie Deese, Sr., and Lillian Shankles  Deese. He was a member of the McColl Church of God and worked as a welder with R & D Machine Company, Inc.  in Bennettsville.

Randy was proud of his Native American Heritage and spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, cooking, and grilling. He also enjoyed time spent fishing with his mom as well as hanging out at Webster’s Garage with his many friends. He also cherished time spent playing basketball at his home with his family and friends.

Randy is survived by his loving son, Justin Randall Deese, of Raeford, NC; his precious parents, Jackie Deese, Sr. and Lillian Deese of the home in McColl; a brother, Rickey Skipper and wife Debbie of York, SC; a special aunt, Margaret Dowdy of McColl; nieces, & nephews, Candace “Nikki” Skipper Harris and husband, Jamie of Edgemore, SC, Brandon Skipper of York, SC and Joseph Patrick Locklear of Bennettsville; by his cousins, Teressa & James Bryant of McColl, Billy Dowdy, Jr., Charlie and Vanessa all of Bennettsville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the McColl Church of God officiated by Dr. Rev. Roy Puckett and Rev. Brian Oxendine. Burial, directed by Roger Funeral Home will follow at Rogers Cemetery in McColl. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday night at the McColl Church of God.

Mr. Deese was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Lee Deese and a sister, Lisa Gail Locklear; and by his maternal grandparents, Dewey & Lena Mae Shankle and by paternal grandparents, Slocum & Bessie Deese.
