Ms. Susan Outlaw Garner, age 53, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Dundee Manor in Bennettsville, after an illness.
Born in Scotland County, NC, on October 11, 1963, she was the daughter of Arlene Mauney Outlaw and the late Charles Henry Outlaw. She graduated from McColl High School Class of 1981 and from Chesterfield - Marlboro Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Susan was a skillful and dedicated nurse, having worked for Marlboro Park Hospital (Bennettsville), Dundee Nursing Home (Bennettsville) and Scottish Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (Laurinburg, NC). She attended her home church Eastside Baptist Church in McColl.
Susan loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and enjoyed making Christmas cookies with them. She loved animals, especially her dogs.
She is survived by her mother, Arlene Outlaw of McColl; a son, Garrett Garner of McColl; a sister, Ellen Hill (Keith) of Florence; a brother, Michael Knight (Carla) of Camden, SC; by two grandchildren, Haley Garner, and Braycen Garner; and by a niece, Mary Keith Hill and a nephew, Adam Hill.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Adamsville Cemetery directed by Rogers Funeral Home of McColl. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Rogers Funeral Home.
