Ms. Nellie Mae Parrish Sanderson, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Marlboro County, SC, on November 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Julias Tillman Parrish and Mary Ann Elizabeth Pope Parrish. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Carl Edwards. She loved dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Edwards of McColl; grandchildren,Tonya Edwards of McColl, Amanda Todd of Conway, Evelyn Stewart of Laurinburg, NC, Angela Newton, Robert (Little Man) Newton both of Laurel Hill, NC; also by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home.
In addition to her parents listed above she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Freeman; by brothers, David Dixon Parrish, Julius Tillman Parrish, Jr., Charles Raymond Parrish and William Hampton Parrish.
