Mrs. Norma Jean Pate Arnette, formerly of McColl, died suddenly Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home in Monroe, NC. She was 74 years old.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Rogers Funeral Home in McColl, SC and will be officiated by Steve Rousey. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation Thursday evening, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., also at the funeral home.
Born June 23, 1941, Norma Jean was the daughter of the late Douglas Eugene Pate and the late Nora Lee Altman Pate. She was born in Scotland County, NC and was a graduate of Wagram High School, class of 1959. Norma Jean began her working career in the cotton mill but eventually went on to a management role in several convenience stores. She loved to cook and look after her family and she enjoyed making crafts. Norma Jean also loved socializing at the local barn dances.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Arnette was preceded in death by two daughters, Jamie Samanatha Arnette and Kimberly Charmaine Hollingsworth.
To cherish her memory she leaves behind a daughter, Ginger Arnette Rousey and husband Steve of Newton, NC; a brother, Donald “Gene” Pate, of Monroe, NC; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss her.
