Ronald "Ronnie" M. Quick

Ronald “Ronnie” Mack Quick of McColl passed away suddenly at his home Thursday, July 14, 2016.  He was 71 years old.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the McColl Church of God and will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Roy Puckett.  Interment will follow at Rogers Cemetery.  There will be a time of visitation and remembrance at the church from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, just prior to the service.

Ronnie was born on Tuesday, January 16, 1945 to the late Colon “Jack” Quick and the late Lorraine Snipes Quick in Marlboro County, SC.  He began his career in textiles but eventually came to serve as a police officer in his hometown of McColl.  Ronnie also spent several years working for the town of McColl.  He loved fishing and his pekingese, Zoey, was his loyal friend in everything he did.  Ronnie also loved searching through the old memories of others by going to yard sales and antique markets.

In addition to his parents Ronnie was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney Quick and Christopher Quick; a daughter, Marie Quick; a brother, Bobby E. Quick, and Shirley Norton, his friend and companion for the last two decades. 

To cherish his memory Ronnie leaves with us a son, James Quick of McColl, SC; three brothers, Gerald Quick and wife Suzie of Marietta, GA, Richard Quick and wife Linda of Bennettsville, SC, and Gary Allen Quick, Sr. of McColl, SC; three sisters, Frances Langley, Linda Willis Graves and husband Rocky, and JoAnne Quick, all of Bennettsville; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly.
