Shirley (Lee) Norton

Shirley Lee Norton departed for her heavenly home Monday, February 29, 2016.  She was in the care of Hospice of Scotland County and was surrounded by her family and loved ones.  Mrs. Norton was 76 years old.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the McColl Church of God.  Officiating will be the Rev. Harrison Lampley with assistance from the Rev. Dr. Roy Puckett.  There will be a time of visitation and fellowship with the family at the church immediately following the service.  Interment will be private.

Shirley was born April 15, 1939 to the late Murphy L. Lee and the late Vera Craft Lee in McColl, SC.  She worked for many years at Ingraham/Toastmaster (the watch plant) in Laurinburg.  If you wanted to make her happy, take her to a yard sale, a flea market, or a thrift store.  But her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of more than three decades, Jimmy Lee Norton and a son, Jimmy Troy Norton.

Her memory will be carried on by her close friend and constant companion for the last nineteen years, Ronnie Quick; her daughter, Tammy Norton Anderson and husband Sam of McColl; a sister, Peggy Delay and husband Brian of Rock Springs, GA; her daughter-in-law, Johanna Norton of McColl; her six grandchildren, Andy Norton and wife Beth, Jonathan Norris and wife Ashley, Caleb Norris and wife Hope, Elizabeth Norton, Lori Jo Brayboy, and Alissa Brayboy, as well as host of family, neighbors, and friends who will miss her dearly.
