William Douglas Dew

Mr. William Douglas Dew, age 78,widower of the late Annie Mae Dew, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his residence after an illness.

Born in Marlboro County, SC, on April 8, 1937, he was the son of the late Douglas William Dew and Annie Mae Pruitt Rouse. He retired from construction work as a heavy equipment operator and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Mr. Dew enjoyed mechanic work especially on cars, watching westerns and wrestling, cooking with his family and hunting.

He is survived by his sons, Huey Douglas Dew and wife Betty Faye of Maxton, NC, Randy Lee Dew of Clio, Donnie Ray Dew of Clio and Michael Anthony Dew and wife Margaret of Clio; four daughters, Barbara Ann Dew of Clio, Betty Jean Ellis and husband Edward “Skibo” of Bennettsville and Rebecca Jane Cummings and husband Larry of Bennettsville, and Lisa Mae Stromberg of Blenheim; a brother, Johnny Dew and wife Margaret of Wallace, SC; 27 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Mt. Elem Free Will Baptist Church in Clio with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home in McColl.

Mr. Dew was preceded in death by his parents and wife listed above; a daughter, Brenda Clark; by a son, Ronnie Dew; by 3 brothers, J.W. Dew, Bobby Dew and Billy Dew; by 2 sisters, Maybell Jackson and Sarah Mumford; by 2 sons-in-law, James Clark and Robert Baker; and by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Locklear.
