Mrs. Audrey Brantley Parker, age 91, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Scotia Village in Laurinburg, NC after an illness.
Born in Chesterfield County, SC, on June 3, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James Preston Brantley and Lela Rayfield Brantley. She was a lifelong member of Main Street United Methodist Church in McColl and was married to the late Charles Frank Parker. She attended Wingate University and was a junior transfer to Appalachian State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She retired as a teacher and a librarian with the Scotland County Schools.
A graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Beaverdam Cemetery in McColl. The Rev. Ann Everett will officiate. Family visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home one hour prior to the funeral service.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Carey L. Sellers of Charlotte, NC; also a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband listed above, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
