Mr. Bill Gibson, Jr, passed away, Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Morrell Nursing Center in Hartsville after an illness. He was 82.
Born November 12, 1934 in Robeson County, NC. He was the son of the late Bill, Sr. and Lela Agnes Bracy Gibson. He was member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was the owner of Weatherly Dry Cleaners, Plumbing and Fencing. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he served during the Korean Conflict. While in service he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was the former Fire Chief of the town of McColl. He served on the city council, where he loved serving the public with his service. He was the night watchman for Covington Mills. He also, loved animals.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; his parents listed above; his wife, Beulah Gause Gibson, his brother, and sisters.
A graveside service will be held 2:30pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Rogers Cemetery in McColl, SC. A visitation will be held from 1:00pm till 2:00pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Rogers Funeral Home in McColl, SC.
