Clio, SC
Mrs. Maxine Norton Bell, 75, departed this life Friday, July 6, 2018 at Regency Hospital in Florence.
Born February 20, 1943, McColl, she was a daughter of the late Wade & Shelly Frier Norton, Sr. She was a graduate of McColl High School and had worked at ABB in Florence.
Maxine at an early age accepted Christ as her Savior, and from that moment began the creation of a servant’s heart. That servant’s heart would later lead she and her husband, the late Robert B. Bell along with several others to build a ministry which is now the Clio Church of God where she served the church in many capacities up until her brief illness.
She also was very active in her Community where she served as a member of the Clio Cotton Festival Committee, and the Cross Stitchers of Clio. They made crosses out of plastic canvas and yarn that were given for Mission Trips, schools, VBS and other groups or individuals who wanted one. She also helped with the Community Dinners at Main St. UMC, Thanksgiving dinners at the Geddie Cole Center and Clio Community Center.
Maxine leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters, Donna Bell of the home, Garnett B. (Jerry) Goins of Clio, Melissa Bell (Eric Beach) of McColl, Bobbie Jo (Sam) Hunt, Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Stephen (Emily) White, Della Caroline White & daughter Daylee, Erica M. Goins (Daryl Thomas) and children Jaylen and Ka'miya & Dayl Thomas, Garret Beach, & Katelyn Beach. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wade Norton, Jr., and sister Carolyn N. Tew.
