Miriam Faye McCune Ford, 71, passed away October 11, 2017.

Born on November 20, 1945 in McColl, S.C., she was the daughter of Beatrice McCall McCune and James L. McCune.

Throughout her 30-year career as a healthcare professional, she had a heart for caring for others by working in the general practice, neurology and cardiology fields.

Miriam graduated from McColl-Fletcher Memorial High School in McColl in 1963, where she was active in the school’s theater program and co-captain of the McColl Red Devils varsity basketball team. An avid reader and film buff, she enjoyed novels and books about history, biographies, travel and ancestry. She also enjoyed watching classic and suspense films, gardening, traveling, visiting with so many of her life-long high school friends and being a doting “Mimi” to her beloved grandchildren.

Miriam is survived by her children, Rob Ford and his wife Laura, and Erin Ford Barrett; three grandchildren, Madison Ford, Luke Barrett and Evan Barrett; sister, Linda Caulder and her husband Ronnie; brother, Jack McCune and his wife Bonnie; brother, Ray McCune and his wife Mar; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.

A visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, October 16, at First Presbyterian Church in McColl, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m.
