Mr. Charles Penfield, Sr., age 83, beloved widower of the late Doris Graham Penfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Dundee Manor in Bennettsville after an illness.

Born in McColl, SC, on July 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Willie and Ruth Williams Penfield. He was a retired self-employed master carpenter and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Mr. Charles was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. Above all, he loved being with his family, spending time with his late wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Alfred Penfield and Charles Penfield, Jr. both of McColl; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Rogers Funeral Home with burial following in Rogers Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 12 noon until the service time.

Mr. Penfield was preceded in death by his parents listed above; his wife; a daughter, Debra Penfield Williams; brothers, Billy, Shorty and Bo Penfield; sisters, Joyce Parker, Janice Sylvia and Sarah Frances Clark.
