 Mrs. Nettie Shealy Sligh, 92, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Scotia Village.

 Born July 28, 1926 in Little Mountain, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Killian Shealy and Mary Elizabeth Lindler Shealy.  She was a 1947 graduate of Newberry College and was a retired educator with 33 years of service having taught at McColl High School.  She also was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

 Her hobbies included gardening, reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.  She hand stitched a queen size cathedral style quilt for each of her 2 grandchildren.

 She leaves behind to cherish her memory: a son, William Sligh & wife Kathryn of Hartsville; a daughter, Sharon Guerry & husband Robert of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Brian Guerry & wife Nicole of Newport Beach, CA & Melissa Guerry of Midland, MI.

 Mrs. Sligh was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” D. Sligh, Sr, as well as sisters Mamie Lou Rye, Martha Kesterson, Ruby Shealy, Alene Horton, Erlene Bethea, and a brother, Henry Shealy.

 Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 10, 2018 at Main Street United Methodist Church.

 The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Rogers Funeral Home.
