Ms. Sallie Ethelle Baxley, 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Mcleod Health Cheraw.
Ms. Ethelle was born November 20, 1924 in Dillon, S.C. to the late Charlie and Mamie Thompson Baxley. She was a 1944 graduate of McColl High School. She was retired as bookkeeper & secretary for Thomas E. Crow Company. She was a lifelong member of Eastside Baptist Church in McColl where she served as G.A. leader, Sunday school teacher and secretary of the church. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved cats, especially her feline companion “Patches”.
Ms. Ethelle leaves behind to cherish her memory; nieces, Gail Hardee, Patricia Willis, Linda Hendricks and Dawn Bertram; nephews, Ronnie Crow, Gene Crow and Timmy Watson.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; a brother, Harry Baxley; sisters, Esther Crow, Virginia Bolton, Mary Watson and Juel Baxley; nephews, Charles R. “Buddy“ Bolton and Jeffery Rabon.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Rogers Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Eastside Baptist Church and with burial to follow at Beaver Dam Cemetery in McColl, SC.
