Shirley (Jones) Flowers

Shirley Jones Flowers of McColl departed this life Friday, November 9, 2018.

Born September 19, 1947 in Bennettsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Jones and Sadie Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Legrand Flowers; brother, Robert “Bobby” Jones; sisters, Vicky Jones and Vera Ransom.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughter. Tammy Flowers of McColl; sons, Aaron Flowers and wife Ashley of Hartsville, SC, and Lee Flowers and fiancé Julie of Macclesfield, NC; sister, Frances Locklear of McColl, SC; two precious granddaughters, Olivia Rose and Savannah Grace Flowers of Hartsville; and a very special lifelong best friend, Betty Young Walters of McColl, SC.

Mrs. Flowers was retired and loved spending time with her family and especially her granddaughters. She enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid Betty Boop Collector. She liked to shop and spent many weekends at her favorite place to go, Myrtle Beach. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. She will be missed in many ways by many people and will forever remain in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 at the McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Rogers Funeral Home.
