Alice Gayle Meggs Smith, 72, of McColl, SC passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 in Cheraw after an illness. Gayle was born February 8, 1949 in Bennettsville, SC a daughter of Aileen Rowell Meggs and the late Alfred Meggs. She was a member of McColl Church of God. Mrs. Smith loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Meggs; her husband, Jerry Smith; and a sister, Terri Meggs.

Survivors include her mother, Aileen R. Meggs of Bennettsville, SC; two sons, Jerry Keith Smith (Dorothy Pearson-Smith) of Lexington, SC and Jeffrey Paul Smith (Donna Jackson Smith) of Bennettsville, SC; two brothers, Larry Meggs and Mitchell Meggs; a sister, Shane Lebean; fifteen grandchildren, Nikki Anderson (Kevin), Tiffany Lee, Jerri Beth Smith, Jean LeFlore, Gabrielle Dukes, Kayla Smith, Taylor Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Jr., Jessica Smith, Anna Lee, McKenzie Owens, Keemo Owens, Kaylan Hammonds (Brandon), McKenzie Jackson and Billy Jackson, III (Alonna); and twenty-four great-grandchildren.   

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Rogers Cemetery.
