Barbara (Chavis) Bumgarner

Mrs. Barbara Chavis Bumgarner passed away December 21, 2019 at Frye Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was 67 years old.

Mrs. Bumgarner was born in Marlboro County on October 20, 1952 to Mrs. Iona Locklear Faulk and the late Fred Chavis. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. She enjoyed dancing, making people laugh, and spending time with her family.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; sons, Kenneth Hill of Lenoir, NC and Johnny Hill of Bethlehem, NC.; mother, Iona Locklear Faulk; sister, Audrey Crane; grandchildren, Johnny Fredrick Hill, Jr., Kendell Hill, and Khirsten Cashman; nieces, Billie Harless, Camilla Oxentine, Christalynn Russell; nephew, Hunter Oxentine; numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father listed above; husband, Johnny Edgar Hill; brother, Daryl Chavis; sister, Vickie Apple.

A graveside service will be held 3 pm Monday, January 6, 2020 at Locklear Cemetery in Gibson, NC, officiated be Rev. Anthony Dial.
