Billie Jean Newton Ray, 77, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence.
Born March 24, 1945, in Bennettsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Curtis P. and Lou Jean Leviner Newton. Mrs. Ray was a member of In God We Trust Ministries and was retired from Richmond Converters. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, reading, shopping, cooking shows, going to church, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandsons, Harley Bishop Ray III, and Michael Allen Ray, great great granddaughter, Kayleigh Garner, daughters-In-Law, Angela Ray, Misty Ray, and Diana Ray. Mrs. Billie Jean is survived by her sons, Rodney L. Ray of Spartanburg, Harley Bishop Ray Jr. of McColl, Curtis L. Ray of McColl, Stephen A. Ray (Vicky) of Chesney, SC; daughters, Sandra Ray Barfield (Johnny) of McColl and Marina Ray of Spartanburg; special daughter in law, Wilma Ray of McColl; brother, Coye Bogdon of Laurel Hill, NC; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Rogers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Adams Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 6p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Funeral Home.
