Buddy Taylor

McColl, SC Hubert Jerome “Buddy” Taylor age 75, of McColl, passed away on May 7, 2023, at his residence.

Buddy was born February 2, 1948, in Marlboro County. He was a son of the late Hubert and Agnes Arnette Taylor. Buddy retired after many years in the textile industry. He first worked for Covington Fabrics, then finished his career at WestPoint Stevens. Buddy loved watching westerns and visiting with his brother. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy “Cathead” Taylor, and his sisters, Gloria Jean Locklear, Linda Taylor, and Jane Jones.

Buddy is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Carolyn Locklear Taylor of the home; sons, Phillip Graham and Michael Taylor; a daughter, Tammy Taylor; a brother, Wayne Taylor; four grandchildren; nephew and best friend, Billy Ray Jones, Jr; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Donald Deal.

An interment will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Buddy’s honor to Hospice and Palliative Care.
