Carolyn Locklear Taylor, age 71 of McColl, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024.

Carolyn was born August 26, 1952, in Marlboro County. She was a daughter of the late Alex and Myrtle Locklear. Carolyn was a fun-loving person. She was a big fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks. She loved laughing and joking around. Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, listening to her scanner, and late-night phone conversations. She also enjoyed passing out candy at Halloween and “cutting the corners” in McColl. Although she never had any children of her own, she helped raise many and loved them all dearly.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Buddy” Taylor; brothers, Craig Locklear and Eugene “Buddy” Locklear; and a sister, Mildred Reppert.

Carolyn is survived by a sister, Margaret Brigman of Laurinburg; half-brother, Bill Locklear (Terena) of Laurinburg; aunts and uncles, Dawson and Bobbie Carr of Seven Lakes, NC, John and Janice Locklear of Myrtle Beach, and Sarah Lemieux Palmer of Marietta, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members; she is also survived by lots of wonderful friends, including Catherine Ray.

A service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
