Christine Pevey Barrington, 76, of Bennettsville, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her home.

She was born August 1, 1944 in McColl, SC. She was a daughter to the late George Allen and Annie Pearl Grooms Pevey. Christine was a devoted member to Shady Grove Baptist Church and was an assistant supervisor at Abbott Lab Industries and a cook U Tot’em. Christine was a strong independent & loving woman who loved to bake, cook, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, eating at Olive Garden, loved her church & church family but most of all her family.

Mrs. Barrington is preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Dwayne Edward Barrington; brothers, George Allen Pevey, Henry Allen Pevey, Ricky Allen Pevey, James Allen Pevey; sister, Judith Kinard.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Barrington of Cheraw; son, Anthony Barrington (Lori) of Cheraw; daughters, Lynn Barrington of Bennettsville, April Barrington (Emily) both of Bennettsville; Candace Cornell (Ave’) of Bennettsville; brothers, Thomas Allen Pevey (Ginger) of McColl; sisters, Jeanette Clark of Bennettsville; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and her prayer partner and sister; Vivian Miller and brother Julius Miller.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson, NC.
