Mr. Daniel Quentin Grooms, 25, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at the Blue Family Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home.

Born, April 19, 1989 in Scotland County, NC, he was the son of Donald Gary and Bobbie Jean Blue Grooms.  Daniel graduated from Marlboro County High School where he played football and was a member of the band.  He attended Northeastern Technical College.  Mr. Grooms was enlisted in the United States Army and was due to leave for Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood on Sunday, January 25, 2015.  He attended Piney Plains Freewill Baptist Church, and he enjoyed making and recording music, and working on cars.  He also loved his daughter and his family.

He is survived by his parents, Donald Gary Grooms and Bobbie Jean Blue Grooms; his daughter, Ayonna Rayne Grooms; maternal grandmother, Thelma Blue of Bennettsville; brothers, Donald Grooms, Jr. (Marissa) of Hamlet, NC, Joshua Grooms (Whitney Best) of McColl, and Matthew Grooms (Holly) of Columbia; and sisters, Bobbie Joanna Grooms of McColl, and Jessica Grooms of Fayetteville, NC.
