David Franklin Barfield

David Franklin Barfield, 73, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at his residence.

Born April 20, 1951, in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of the late Charlton Len and Myrtle McKenzie Barfield. He was a graduate of McColl High School and a forklift operator with Carolina Canners in Cheraw. He attended McColl Church of God. He enjoyed playing softball, watching NASCAR, wrestling, the South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Brenda Blackwell Barfield and Judy Barfield, Son, David Barfield, and brother, Willie Charles Barfield.

He is survived by his sons, Patrick Barfield, Aaron Barfield and Chris Barfield, a daughter, Tammy Grant, sisters, Brenda Barfield Spivey, Becky Barfield Grooms (Robert “Coon”) and Cynthia Barfield Horne (Terry Wayne), and numerous grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Rogers Funeral Home in McColl, with burial to follow in Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. just prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
