McColl, SC
David Colon Locklear (67) of McColl, son of the late Donnie and Myrtle Langley Locklear, passed away suddenly on November 5, 2020.
David served as the Pee Dee Indian Tribal Chief from 1984-1998. He worked in construction and was an avid football fan. He loved his canine companions, Bit, GiGi, Jeff and Sugar. David had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughter, Dovie Marie Locklear of Florence, SC; his son, David Allen Coe Locklear (Alicia) of McColl, SC; sisters, Jeanette Redbrook, Margaret LaBean, Virgie Montoya and Ophelia Kitchen of McColl, SC, Geneva Williams of Greensboro, NC, and Catherine Shannon of New Jersey; grandchildren, Bella Locklear, River Adams, Ryan Barlow, Ezra Locklear, Langley Williamson, Mannix Locklear, Madelyn Locklear, and a host of nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents listed above.
A funeral service will be held 3pm Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Rogers Funeral home in McColl, officiated by the Revs. Kevin Pate and Donald Deal.
The family will receive friends just prior to the service at the funeral home from 2pm until 3pm.
