Debra Jean Chavis

Debra Jean Chavis, 60, of McColl, SC passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at Scotland Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born November 7, 1960 in Laurinburg, NC a daughter of the late William Lee Chavis and the late Annie Ruth Clark Chavis. Debra Jean was a member of Pee Dee Chapel Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Debra Jean loved to cook, sew, and sing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Ruth Chavis; her significant other, Tony Scott; two sisters, Jackie Chavis Deal and Kathy Ransom Chavis; and two grandchildren, Ava Lee Rodriguez and Austin Lee Rodriguez.

Survivors include her daughter, Cadcey Chavis (Shaun) of McColl; a brother, Billy Dean Chavis of McColl; eight grandchildren, Shauna Rodriguez (Lance), Maria Rodriguez (Blaze), Asia Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Kelsey Chavis (Brett), Logan Rodriguez, Lillian Rodriguez and Rileigh Rodriguez; four great-grandchildren, Connor Boone, Naomi Rodriguez, Kendall Hayes and Kayson Hayes; four nieces, Gabby Deal, Mandy Thompson, Kelly Ransom and Angel Smalls; and four nephews, Kristopher Hunt, Erik Hunt, Bill-Bill Chavis and BJ Hunt.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Pee Dee Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Pee Dee Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
