Douglas Clark, Jr., affectionately known as “Son”, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, after an extended illness.
Douglas was born August 28, 1944, in Marlboro County. He was a son of the late Douglas and Sarah Margaret Bryant Clark. Douglas spent his working years on the farm and as a tractor mechanic. Douglas enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and watching westerns. He also enjoyed riding his golf cart around the town. Douglas was a humble man who loved his time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Williams Clark; a daughter, Angela Clark Ray; a grandchild, Sabella Clark; brothers, Tommy Clark, Johnnie Clark, and Buck Clark; sisters, Lydia Sweatt and Mary Etta Locklear.
Douglas is survived by his daughter, Selena Clark Sorrells (Bill) of Bennettsville; a son, Sammy Douglas Clark (Fonda) of Gibson, NC; a sister, Geneva Caulder of McColl; grandchildren, Matthew Douglas Clark, Joseph Witherspoon, Sierra Strickland, Chaslyn Clark, Kyndall Clark, Scarlett Clark, William Hayden Sorrells, and Landon Revels; great grandchildren, Kowen Strickland, Rylynn Rose Strickland, Nariah Grace Strickland, and Hunter Clark; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Rogers Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rogers Funeral Home.
