Edward Thompson "Tommy" McDonald

  Mr. Edward Thompson "Tommy" McDonald, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at the Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Pinehurst, NC after an illness.

  Born in Marlboro County, SC, on July 5, 1940, he was the son of the late James Aubrey McDonald, Sr. and Mary Thompson McDonald. Tommy was a graduate of McColl High School and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke  where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Science. He was of the Baptist faith.

  Surviving are his siblings, James Aubrey McDonald, Jr. of Laurinburg, NC, Betty L. Campbell (Tom) of Pensacola, Fl, William O. McDonald (Linda) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Ernest O. McDonald of Asheville, NC.

  At Tommy's request he will be cremated. However, the family is planning a memorial service for a later date.
