Edward Bradley “Pat” Odom, Jr., 86, of McColl, SC passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his residence. Pat was born February 20, 1935 in the sandhills of the Brightsville community of Marlboro County, the son of the late Edward Bradley Odom, Sr. and the late Mildred Stanton Odom. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of McColl for many years. In his earlier years, Pat worked with H.J. Munnerlyn company and the Marlboro County School District as the maintenance supervisor. In his later years, Pat retired from farming and worked for the Hwy 381 Recycle Center after retirement. He served 2 years on the city and 16 years on the county council as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward B. Odom, Sr. and Mildred S. Odom; his first wife, Marvleen K. Odom; a daughter, Kay Odom Usher; a sister, Grace O. Stubbs; and a granddaughter, Amanda Orvin.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Wollebeck Odom of McColl; three sons, Verd Odom (Theresa) of McColl, Pat Odom (Cindy) of Irmo and Charles Odom of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, two daughters, Gay Purvis (Michael) of Plantation Key, FL and Patti Locklear (Glenn) of McColl; a son-in-law, Wayne Usher of Tatum; ten grandchildren, Donald, Cassi, Eric, Adair, Blake, Jessica, Hunter, Cody, Cory and Ethan; nine great-grandchildren, Mya, Erica, Noah, Cason, Ian, Saya, Luke, Miller Kate and Donald; a special friend, Hazel King; two special nieces, Dianne McKay (Thomas) and Rhonda Stephens (Carl), a special adopted son, Jamie Grooms (Mary) and his loving sidekick Bandit.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church of McColl.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2022 at First Baptist Church of McColl. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery.
