Elise German LaBean age 66, of McColl, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at her residence.

Elise was born on April 6, 1957, in Marlboro County. She was a daughter of the late Albert and Ella Locklear German. Elise was known as the foundation of the family. She loved being a stay-at-home mom. Elise was also the peacekeeper of the family. She enjoyed puzzle books and watching Law and Order. Elise was a proud Native American and valued Native American traditions. Most of all, Elise loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Artemus Strickland.

Elise is survived by her children, Elaine German and Wesley German of McColl; a husband, Richard LaBean of McColl; a sister, Theresea Hayes of Dillon; grandchildren, Jasmine Martin, James Martin, Awan Martin, Brittany German, and Destiny German; stepchildren, David E. LaBean of RI, and Susan D. LaBean of PA; several other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Daniel’s Chapel Holiness Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
