McColl, SC
Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Louise Burroughs Foley passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at her residence after an illness. She was 80 years old.
She was born in McColl, SC on August 23, 1940, to the late Alger Lowry and Mary Elizabeth Ransom Burroughs. She was a member of Eastside Baptist for 63 years and was baptized in 1958. She was graduate of McColl High School, class of 1958. She was the City Clerk for the Town of McColl for 35 years, and later worked with Rogers Funeral Home for many years. She enjoyed traveling, light houses, Mule Day at Benson, NC, making sweet potato pies, and serving as a weather watcher for the National Weather Service.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; sisters, Juanita Gibson, Emily Edwards, Mable Shelley (Bobby), Sue Duffy (David) all of McColl, and Dale Cooley (Neil) of Weddington, NC; her puppy Frosty and donkey Elvis; host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; husband, Charles “Chuck” Everette Foley; nephew, Silas Cooley; Infant sister, Mary Lee Burroughs.
A funeral service will be held 2pm, Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Eastside Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Rogers Williams, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm just prior to the service at the church.
