Elsie Elizabeth (Brigman) Whitewater

McColl, SC

Elsie Elizabeth Brigman Whitewater, age 88 of McColl, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, after an extended illness.

Elsie was born October 11, 1935, in Marlboro County. She was a daughter of the late Clem and Mary Coley Brigman. Elsie worked many years in textiles. She enjoyed dancing and country music. Her favorite artist was George Strait. Elsie loved cooking Sunday dinners and cooking on the holidays. More than anything, she loved her time spent with family.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Whitewater; her brothers, Clem Brigman, Jr., William Brigman and John Daniel Brigman; her sisters, Rosie Suggs, Jeanie Howard, and Sarah Coleman.

Elsie is survived by her sons, Harve Whitewater of McColl, Danny Whitewater (Valena) of Maricopa, AZ, and Daniel Whitewater of Little Rock; daughters, Rena Whitewater Russ (Jody) of Laurinburg, NC, Misty Brady (fiancé Timothy Nichols) of Bennettsville, SC; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on  Friday, July 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
