Mrs. Emily Ruth Burroughs Edwards passed away, Monday, September 6, 2021, at McLeod Health Cheraw after a brief illness. She was 78 years old.

She was born in McColl, SC on August 14, 1943, to the late Alger Lowery and Mary Ransom Burroughs. She was a member of Eastside Baptist. She was owner/operator of an Auto Upholstery company and Insurance Coordinator for Palmetto Dentistry. She was a member of McColl Fletcher High School basketball team, yearbook editor, and was Miss McColl 1961. She enjoyed WMU, putting on benefits “Relay for Life”, shopping, shagging, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; son, Timothy Lowery Edwards (Barbara Ann); daughter, Tracey Leigh Powers; sisters, Juanita Gibson, Mabel Shelley, Sue Duffy, and Dale Cooley; grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Powers, Eric Jonathan Powers, and Ethan Lowery Powers; tons of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Foley; nephew, Silas “Si” Cooley.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Friday, September 10, 2021, at Eastside Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Rogers Williams, with burial in Roselawn Cemetery in McColl. A visitation will be held from 2-3 pm just prior to the service at the church.
