McColl, SC
Helen Renee Langley passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC. She was 55 years old. Helen was born April 30, 1964 to Pearlie Mae Langley and the late Eston Langley. Growing up in the McColl area, she was one of three children and a 1982 graduate of McColl High School. Helen was previously employed in quality control with J.P. Stevens, as well as various convenience stores across the area. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the soap operas and traveling to the mountains and the beach. She was intrigued with airplanes and birds, and enjoyed sitting outside on pretty days, enjoying the sun and fresh air. She loved sports cars and enjoyed riding around in her Mustang with the top down. Helen went to battle with breast cancer in 2003 and became a staunch supporter of breast cancer awareness and a participant in the Relay for Life ceremonies over the years. She dearly loved her mother and claimed her two daughters to be her greatest accomplishment in life. They were the joy of her life and the source of her pride.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, listed above; brother, Tommy Langley; and sister, Diane Brigman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Brittany Langley of Bennettsville and Cristin Langley of Latta; mother, listed above; best friend Lynn Locklear (Donnie) of Bethlehem, NC; and a large and loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the McColl Church of God, officiated by Rev. Donald Deal. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery in McColl.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 at the church.
