Hope Yvette Goff Smith, 61, widow of Danny “Bub” Eugene Smith, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 24, 1964, in Lumberton, NC, Hope was the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Sarah Elizabeth Graham Goff. She was a devoted member of McColl Church of God and had a long and successful career in the banking industry, working for over 31 years.
Hope loved life and embraced every moment. She loved the Lord. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, riding four-wheelers and her pontoon boat, playing softball, and being outdoors. Above all, she cherished time with her family, friends, and beloved grandchildren. Her warmth and love for people were evident to all who knew her.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; son, Patrick Smith (Tamara); daughters, Ashley Smith and Kaitlyn Smith (Jara Flowers); brothers, Charles Goff (Robin); grandchildren, Sequoiya Smith, Ke’mani Brown, Keiton Smith, and Kai Smith. A host of cousins that referred to her as Aunt Hope and a host of children who call her “NaNa”
She was preceded by her parents and husband listed above.
A funeral service will be held 4pm, Sunday, October 5, 2025, at McColl Church of God, officiated by Revs. Donald Deal and Brian Oxendine, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3-4 pm just prior to the service at the church.
