JimBoy was born September 29, 1952 in Scotland County, NC to the late James Sidney "Red" Coleman and the late Sarah Brigman Coleman. He worked for many years in the textile industry at JP Stevens and most recently was a friendly face at Nic’s Pic Kwik in McColl. He was an avid golfer and when he wasn’t on the golf course he loved to fish as well. James had a special relationship with his brother and they would ride through the country “making the rounds”. His greatest joy in life though, was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Marlboro Men’s Ministry.
In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by a brother, Marion A. "Mac" Coleman, and a brother-in-law, Christopher Brigman.
To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife of 27 years, JoAnn Robinson Coleman; a daughter, Chelsey Cain and husband Jason of Chattanooga, TN; two sons, Chad Quick and wife Julia of Bennettsville and Andy Quick and wife Connie of Hamlet;; a brother, David Coleman and wife Andrea of McColl; two sisters, Ruth Stiglich and husband Tom and Linda Brigman, both of McColl; five grandchildren, Haley and Bryson Cain, Chad Quick, and Logan and Madison Quick; his nieces and nephews; an aunt, Elsie Whitewater, as well as a host of friends and neighbors who will miss him.
