James Arthur Goins, Sr.

McColl, SC

Mr. James Arthur Goins Sr., 80, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at his residence.

James was born September 7, 1939 in Clio to the late Hinson & Margie Mae Oxendine Goins. He retired after 35 years of dedicated service to J.P. Stevens and attended Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church of McColl. James enjoyed working on cars, fishing, sightseeing as his grandchildren say it, most of all he loved to spend time with family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above, an infant daughter, Sandra Ann Goins; grandson, Robbie Goins; great grandson, little Justin; brothers, Chesley Goins, W. H. Goins, Willie Goins, Lacey Goins.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 58 years, Mary Jane Goins; Sons, James A. Goins, Jr. of McColl, Robert Earl Goins of McColl; daughter, Sara Turner of McColl; brother, Jessie Goins (Mary) of Hamlet; grandchildren, Kim Milligan, Dwayne Milligan, Carmen Perkins, Ashley Gause, Stephanie Perkins, Bridgette Turner, Josh Hunt, Samuel Goins, Justin Goins; great grandchildren, Bella, Leo, Jasmine, Lil Robbie, Jaylen, Kimmi, Kelsy, Ava, Alyssa, Maddison, Autasty, Brooke, Karma, Aubree, Cheyenne, Anthony, Maleah, J.J. and Kingston; caregiver and best buddy, Alan Michael Hyatt.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 20, 2020 at Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church of McColl with burial to follow in Rogers Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 7 – 9 P.M. on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Rogers Funeral Home.
