Janie Hamilton Johnson, age 75 of McColl, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, after an extended illness.

Janie was born February 8, 1949, in Bennettsville. She was a daughter of the late Johnnie and Fannie Holmes Hamilton. Janie was a hardworking woman. She spent many years working in textiles. Janie loved traveling to the beach and fishing. Most of all, Janie was a strong woman who enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Junior Johnson; a son, Arthur Johnson, II; a brother, Paul Hamilton; sisters, Peggy Haithcock, Alice Vickers, and Betty Lowery.

Janie is survived by her sons, Sammy Lee Johnson of McColl, Ted Junior Johnson of Laurel Hill, NC, and Richard Junior Johnson (Nicole) of McColl; a brother, David Hamilton of Clio; eight grandchildren; a special friend, Floyd Lowery of Clio; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Rogers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
