John Henry Locklear, 60, of Columbia, SC formerly of McColl, SC passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 in Columbia, SC after an illness. He was born September 15, 1960 a son of the late George Leonard Locklear and the late Mary Lee Purham. John was raised by his grandmother/mother, the late Versa Mae Locklear.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother; two brothers, James Locklear and Lonzie Locklear; and three sisters, Martha Strickland, Laura Jane Roscoe and Renee Byrd.

He is survived by his son, John Locklear; six brothers, Carl Locklear (Wendy) of McColl, Gilbert Locklear of McColl, Welborn Locklear (Carrie) of McColl, Lonzie L. Locklear of McColl, Scott Byrd (Judy) of Harmony, NC and Robert Byrd of Ashboro, NC; two sisters, Sara Leatherman of Mooresville, NC and Mary Jane Gause of McColl; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Friday, July 2, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, July 2, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Priest Cemetery in McColl, SC.
