Johnathan Kinston Thomas Chavis, age 18 of McColl, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Kinston was born February 24, 2007, in Florence. He was a son of Jamie John Chavis and Jamie Lynn Martin. Kinston was a fun-loving person. He loved his job and going out to eat. Kinston had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them. More than anything, Kinston loved spending time with his family, especially his precious daughter.

Kinston was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Janet Taylor.

Kinston is survived by his daughter, Londyn Kaylynn Chavis of Laurinburg, NC; mother, Jamie Lynn Martin of McColl; father, Jamie John Chavis of Dillon; a brother, Johnny Owens of Hamer; a sister, Kenley Chavis of McColl; grandfather, Thomas Martin and Me-Maw Regina Bailey of McColl; paternal grandparents, James and Patricia Hunt of Dillon; aunts, Christy Barfield, Amy Jones, Sherry Chavis, Christine Martin, and Samantha Martin; uncles, Michael Chavis, Jimmy Jones, and Kevin Brigman; several other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow the service in Leland Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.
