Mary Elizabeth Kessler Grooms passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from injuries sustained in an accident. She was 40 years old.

Born in Raeford, NC on July 12, 1985, to Georgia Kessler and the late Keith Elders. She enjoyed doing hair and makeup, working on cars, making jewelry, taking care of people, and loved her children.

She leaves behind the cherish her loving memory; her mother, Georgia Kessler; husband, James Patrick Grooms; sons, Patrick Logan Grooms aka Loggie Bear and Christopher David Locklear aka Bambino; daughter, Serenity Faith Sanderson aka Bug; brothers, Chris Elders, Rylan Chavis, and Joshua Stevens; sisters, Martha Elders, Francesca Elders, Amanda Kessler, and Denise Chavis; a grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her father listed above, and cousin who was like her sister, Brittany Chavis

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home, with burial in Rogers Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Donald Deal.

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home.
